During the Herbarium project prototypes of a unified environment of management of the engineering software and the integrated engineering software platform are created.

The unified environment of management allows to organize collective development of modules of engineering software and represents the specialized WEB PORTAL which will allow to provide quickly access to the integrated software platform and separate modules of engineering software for use both developers of modules, and end users of an applied CAD system.

The unified environment of management will allow developers of CAD systems and separate modules softwares to extend (to sell) the developments, using one technology Internet platform: it will contribute to the development of competitive environment for developers that directly will affect quality of the created software. Besides, the unified environment of management will allow to provide centralization of interaction of developers and consumers on the uniform platform and also to create the centralized storage of modules of engineering software, the normative reference information and 3D models based on the uniform file format of model.

According to contractors of the Herbarium project, the developed solutions will allow to create domestic competence center on development of the engineering software that will allow to unify, in particular, the created products, to increase quality and to reduce terms of their development and also will allow to develop uniform approach for functional verification of results of operation of modules softwares, to create the automated jobs taking into account specifics of the enterprise and the industry in general, etc.

The created integrated engineering software platform has cross-platform: data on models of products are stored in an open format, and models can be moved to different computing platforms. The engineering software platform will provide for the CAD potential developers the open multilevel application programming interface (API) to functions of the platform, a possibility of development and embedding in a uniform environment of new components of engineering software and also will allow to perform data exchange with external (for example, already used at the enterprise) CAD systems in standard formats.

2016: The fund of perspective researches summed up the results of open beta testing of the Herbarium project

In the fall of 2016 in Moscow there took place the enlarged meeting of Public council on project implementation of Fund of the perspective researches "Herbarium" according to the results of open beta testing of the platform on the website Гербарий.рф. 446 users registered on the open portal, including private developer companies, students and teachers of the Russian universities took part in beta system testing.

The Herbarium project provides creation of a unified environment of collective development of the Russian engineering software: a project objective is not creation of the specific software product, but development of an ecosystem in which developers will be able to offer the enterprises of instrument making, mechanical engineering and other industries of defense industry complex modern software products for design, designing and management of engineering data.

Representatives of the Government of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications, Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Education and Science participated in a meeting.

"Herbarium" is implemented as universal "app store" where domestic developers can create the new software by request of the enterprises taking into account specifics of their industry and individual requirements, developing ready modules using a unified environment of management.

           

The developer will be able to propose to the customer the solutions, using the integrated engineering software platform as some kind of designer. A system can be used at any enterprises where the CAD software products is used: users will be able to project products with creation of three-dimensional model, to carry out konechnoelementny calculations, to develop design documentation and also to project processes of production of parts on CNC machines. In need of the enterprise will be able independently to finish a client part and shell program, gradually refusing import products.

Commenting on perspectives of development of the Herbarium project, the deputy CEO of FPI Sergey Garbuk noted that the begun researches will be continued within collaboration with Roskosmos state corporation in adaptation of a unified environment of collective software development in the space industry, the project on creation of a virtual polygon for carrying out tests of arms and military equipment and the project on interface of the unified environment created within Herbarium with the systems of high-performance computing.

2015: FPI and "MIC" opened the access to the Herbarium portal developed by Reksoft company

The fund of Perspective Researches in 2015 started the project on development of the universal engineering platform and unified software environment of engineering software which received the name "Herbarium". This project is directed to import substitution of the engineering software in production — first of all, century defense industry complex. Contractors of this project are the companies "Management systems", "Top Systems" and "Reksoft" (enters into Technoserv Group).

Project task is creation of the model of the integrated engineering software platform (IESP) providing a possibility of rapid development both separate programs of engineering appointment, and complete industry solutions, and the model of a unified environment of management of engineering software (ESU) - the portal which represents the platform of interaction of developers and consumers of the engineering software. ESU will provide means on collective development and distribution of software and also licensing of software products. Through ESU qualification testing of the developed software and also work with claims and change requests will be performed. In fact ESU will represent app store for engineering software.

At the beginning of 2016 the Fund of perspective researches organizes open beta testing of the current project deliverables. For participation in process of testing it is enough to be registered on the Internet portal - гербарий.рф

IIPP is the platform for creation of a solutions CAD, according to requirements imposed by end consumers. The platform ESU in turn opens possibilities of joint work of producers and consumers of modules. Potential consumers of a system are the Russian defense and industrial enterprises of the different industries. Also broad promotion of this system in science and education is supposed.

Project implementation takes place within solution of the problem of dependence of defense industry enterprises on the foreign engineering software. In the Russian market of industrial software there is no culture of collective development — a large number of foreign programs, the Russian commercial products, "self-written" programs which have different architecture is used and are often incompatible with each other. The uniform domestic open expanded product model format will be developed for problem solving of compatibility and data loss at transfer from one system in another within the project.

The integrated engineering software platform represents a set of means for development of modules CADCAMCAE///ECAD. The platform is written on With ++ and is cross-platform. Its prototype will work in Windows and Linux. Modules which will be placed on the created Internet portal are developed on the basis of SDK using templates.

In the long term on the platform ESU will take place and extend not only the modules created based on IIPP, but also other types of modules, NSI libraries, the including documentation and 3D models, instructions for CNC machines, etc.
