OJSC Concern Air Defense "Alma-Antey" is a Russian concern that unites enterprises developing and producing weapons (air defense and missile defense). Headquarters - in Moscow.

Enterprises assembled in the concern develop, produce and modernize anti-aircraft missile and radar equipment and its components (the main sphere of the concern is air defense). In addition, the tasks of the concern include the implementation, maintenance, repair and disposal for federal state needs and foreign customers of air defense systems, complexes and means and non-strategic missile defense means.

In 1994, a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation was issued on the creation of a concern of air defense enterprises, but then it was never created.

The state concern Almaz-Antey was created by decree of the President of Russia on April 23, 2002 No. 412 on the basis of the AOT PC Concern Antey, NPO Almaz and some other enterprises.

In 2004, it became known as the modern name - Almaz-Antey Air Defense Concern OJSC. By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 1009 of August 4, 2004, it was included in the number of strategic defense enterprises.

2022

Start of serial production of civilian drones

Concern East Kazakhstan region "Almaz-Antey" has begun serial production of multifunctional unmanned aerial vehicles in St. Petersburg. The Obukhov plant became the production site of the project. This was announced on October 24, 2022.

According to the press service of the concern, during November the company plans to assemble the first 400 quadcopters. By the end of 2022, the plant should collect about a thousand drones.

Production of civilian drones started in St. Petersburg

The project was developed as part of a program to diversify production at enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC), the company noted.

Experts have included in the development the most popular functionality, which is understandable even to novice users. The production uses carbon, filled polymers and other modern materials of domestic production.

The devices can be launched in strong winds and in frost. Almost all components of the product, including the flight controller along with its software, were created and manufactured by St. Petersburg enterprises of the Almaz-Antey East Kazakhstan concern.

Quadcopters will be supplied with replaceable batteries, a tablet with software, a control panel, spare blades and other necessary parts.

St. Petersburg drones will go on sale by the end of 2022. By October 24, 2022, you can pre-order. The manufacturer promises that the drone will be significantly cheaper than its foreign counterparts.

On October 14, 2022, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia will have to establish the production of unmanned aerial vehicles of various types. According to Medvedev, this task is due to the fact that the use of UAVs as part of a special military operation in Ukraine is a need that has proven its effectiveness in modern conflicts.[1]

Delay in receiving $1 billion for products delivered abroad
