Amwellthe American service provider for telemedicine. The company offers the universal platform which allows to render remotely services for treatment of sharp and chronic diseases and rendering the post-emergency help.

The platform integrates in a single system not only medical institutions and patients, but also insurance companies. As of the end of August, 2020 over 2 thousand medical institutions and more than 80 thousand employees of the organizations use Amwell services. At the same time telemedicine services are rendered to about 80 million to patients around the world.

2020: Attraction of $100 million investments from Google

On August 24, 2020 it became known that Google invests $100 million in Amwell company. The agreement was signed between Amwell and Google Cloud — cloud division of search giant — and provides cooperation during the long period.

According to the reached agreements, Amwell will transfer all the infrastructure for video conferencing to a cloud platform of Google. It is necessary for the company to receive higher performance and to continue expansion of the customer base.

Partners agreed jointly to develop the telemedicine market. In particular, they are going to use for improvement of quality of remote service such technologies as artificial intelligence and machine learning in which development the American corporation is engaged.

The pandemic blew up the telemedicine market. Today many patients prefer remote consultation. The same can be told both about hospitals, and about doctors. We see methods of quality improvement of service due to automation of such processes as record, waiting and the translation of the speech. Thanks to our efforts the remote medicine will become available to much more wide range of people — contains in the statement of partners.

In addition, Google will provide Amwell of technology of data analysis which will have to improve quality of remote diagnostics of patients. It is necessary, including, to insurance companies.[1]
